Hi, I’m David. This site hosts comprehensive IB physics revision notes I’ve made for the post-2016 examinations syllabus. I got a 7 and here’s how you can too!
Important note: Please take note that although succinct notes are essential towards your revision, they should not be the only materials you cover – working through practice problems from your textbook and past papers are just as important.
App: For revision on the go, download our Android app. If you like our app, don’t forget to give it 5 stars and send in a review!
Offline access: For offline access, download offline browser and type in ibphysics.org for the url.
Happy revising! 🧠
You’re gonna have to get rid of the IB logo. They’ll probably be nice since you’re not making money on selling the app, but they have very strict rules on using their logo. Nice app though. I’ll recommend it to my students.
Thanks for the feedback! App logo has been updated.
Nice. Ya, I just know bc we are a full IB school from pre-k to grade 12, and already have PYP and DP authorizations but were just finishing the process for actual MYP Authorization. Even though we’re close, they told us to pull their logo from any exclusively MYP publications we make.
Best wishes!
Hey. I understand you achieved a 7 in physics HL. I have a question to ask. Did you work ahead for physics. If so, how ahead were you of the class when it came to content (e.g were you 4 chapters ahead of the class, 2 chapters, 0 chapters etc.) Thanks
I actually worked alongside my class haha. But I do these notes to help my revision too (hint hint).
Hello. I was wondering if you are going to include the other options for the course? We are doing imaging at our school and the notes you have are really helpful for the other topics. Thank you so much for the app, it is a lifesaver, even if you cannot do the other options I am happy with the extra help for all the other topics.
Thank you so much!
I most likely won’t do notes for Imaging (more likely doing one for Engineering Physics) though I will try to if I have time. Happy revising!
Many of us would appreciate it so much if you do one of Engineering Physics before november exams. Thank you for the extra help for the other topics as well!
Good news! I’m working on it over this summer.
UPDATE: Engineering Physics has been added!
I’d be really happy if you made notes for Option A, Relativity. Would be a life saver. Love this though, thanks a lot!
Don’t think I’ll be making more notes sorry. :/
This app is so helpful, thank you.
I am wondering if there would be chemistry one too?
Please see my partner site http://ibalchemy.com/!
Pretty helpful, especially the visual part about how stars end up depending on their mass.
Best of luck towards your Astrophysics exam!
I studied from the toskos 6th edition but I have bad recollection so will doing these revisions be enough? Ps I’m also doing past paper problems (I have my exams in may)
Thx. This is great.
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
ahhh! thank you so much for these, such a lifesaver :’) wish i’d found these before my paper 1 and 2 though 🙁
Paper 2 in general was pretty insane though so don’t worry!
Great help… nice… please upload a bit of worked examples… that would be great..
I’ll see what I can do!
Hi. This is really helpfull. Its a good tool for revising. Will it be possible to create them for other subjects like chem?
Please see my partner site http://ibalchemy.com/!
Hey could you please add relativity in the option topics as well!! 🙂 Thanks
I most likely won’t do notes for Relativity (more likely doing one for Engineering Physics) though I will try to if I have time. Happy revising!
Hey david. I’d be appearing for my exams in 2017 and I had a question for TOPIC 1 whether we have to know all the orders of magnitude or just some of them? Thanks your notes are amazing and life-saving
Hey Jason, pertaining to the orders of magnitude in Topic 1, you are not required to remember any of them although having a basic grasp of their relative ratios may be largely beneficial when checking your answers. Glad you find my notes helpful and happy revising!
hi, are you planning on doing notes on the imaging option?
I most likely won’t do notes for Imaging in the near future!
I downloaded the offline browser but when I typed in ibphysicsnotes.wordpress.com for the url but it says its invalid. Please help
And thank you for the app, it’s really good
I just tried it out and it seems to be working fine. If you’re still stuck, can you post a screenshot of your situation so I can have a clearer look? I’m glad that you have found my app helpful!
Nice app! Do you have a partner site for Math HL?
Glad you enjoyed my app! IB Physics does not have a partner IB Math HL site for the time being. For revision, I personally recommend you going through past papers and working out your strengths and areas for improvement.
you lil bigot,
how do you dare to alter my 2nd law?!
Lol
Love this app. Thanks a lot David.
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Dear David,
I stumbled on your good notes. Thanks a lot. I badly need Option C notes. Will you help please. Thanks.
Isaac
Glad you found my notes helpful! I won’t be adding more options though sorry. :/
Dear David,
Thank you so much. Its not possible to view your good notes without internet connection. Can you change this so I can have access without internet?
Yep, I’ve added a link to an “offline browser” in the top of home. 🙂
Thank you so much for these notes! It’s extremely useful for me to revise from! 🙂
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
In the solid friction part I think you made a mistake, it says “Friction force=µs *Normal force for objects that are moving.” I think you meant µk instead of µs. Besides that, really helpful.
Ah, well µs is the friction coefficient. I guess your textbook says µk!
Hi
May you please upload the notes for option d.8 and d.9 for medicinal chemistry…
Trials are about to start and i don’t understand them yet and your notes are really helpful…
Thank you.
Glad you found my notes helpful. Don’t do medical chem though sorry. :/
In chapter 7 i think there is a mistake in the baryons & hadrons section, u you have written that leptons have a charge of +1 and anti leptons have a charge of -1 whereas leptons contain electrons so charge is -1 for leptons and +1 for positrons/anti leptons
Ah! So +1e actually, and +1 lepton number.
Please upload option d8 and d9 notes of medicinal chemistry..
Thank you…
Please upload medicinal chemistry notes of d.8 and d.9
Your notes are really helpful..
Thank you..
I LOVE IT!!!
Thank you so muchhhh, if I get a 7 in Physics HL you will be a huge reason for it!
Glad you found my notes helpful! Did you ace it? 🙂
Do you have notes of Imaging???
No imaging sorry. :/
Plz upload d.8 n d.9 of medicinal chemistry.
Plz. They are great notes and very helpful for IB students.
Glad you found my notes helpful! I don’t do medical chem sorry. :/
Hey!
Your website is insanely helpful! Do you know or have any links/pfds with practice papers! Hope you can help 🙂
Yours,
John
Glad you found my notes helpful! I don’t think it will be legal if I do that haha – check reddit though. 😉
This is really really helpful for me 🙂 it provides info on my weak part of field and wave
Thanks very much
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Nice notes! I hope that you can make notes for all of the options? Thanks!
Don’t think I’ll be adding more options, sorry. :/
I really wish there was one for Computer Science. But still thank you very much for this it is very helpful.
Thank you.
Glad you found my notes helpful! I don’t have notes for CS though. :/
will you ever make an apple app?
Ah, I want to. Apple’s annual fees for developers is pretty high though. :/
Dude, this are insane!!!
Glad you found my notes helpful, ace the exam! 🙂
Hi,
Your notes are very helpful. Is there any way I can print them so I can highlight, annotate, etc.
Thanks
Glad you found my notes helpful. Yes, you can print the webpage as a pdf then send it to your printer. 🙂
THAAANK YOU SO MUCH! Really helpful and thanks making it for free ! You are the real MVP !
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Will you be adding notes for Imaging anytime soon?
Don’t think so sorry. :/
Hi..please link me to an IB Business Management website..that’s as awesome as yours. I love your work
Ah… I don’t do business management though sorry.
Thank you very much, it helped me a lot. But I really wish there was one for Computer Science. Overall thank you for your help.
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ah, I wish I made them too – unfortunately, CS wasn’t offered in my highschool.
Nice!!! But it would be so much better if there was an app for apple users <333
Aw, I just thought the Apple app store annual fee was a bit too high for me. :/
Dear David… It is a very good app….Can you please give me your email address.. I need a small help from you…
HI,
This link is amazing but can you please add some more detail.
Like some solved examples possible.
Glad you found my notes helpful. 🙂 For solved examples, try working through textbook problems and past papers!
Thank you so much for posting this! This is one of the best resources I’ve found out there.
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Thanks for your generous sharing.
On the following page
https://ibphysicsnotes.wordpress.com/topic12/
Under section 12.1 there is this statement :
“Photons exhibit wave properties under its emission or absorption.” Should it be “Photons exhibit particulate/quantum properties under its emission or absorption.”?
Ah, I think both actually.
David, you are a lifesaver, can you tell me where I can find past papers?
Glad you found my notes helpful! You can ask for past papers from your school or search them on reddit. 😉
Wow! This app is awesome, it’s so unfortunate that I found it late
Aw, hope you did well though!
These are amazing thank you so so so much
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
May i ask, this is all the syllabus needs you to know right?
Yep. But make sure cover materials from past papers as well!
Very nice Mr David your work is appreciable.
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Really useful dude, life-saver
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Hi,
Great site for revision covering all the necisities within the topic. However, it would’ve been better with more examples and exam questions.
Glad you found my notes helpful. 🙂 For exam questions, I suggest you work through past papers as they most accurately reflect what will be tested. (They also own the copyright to the questions.)
Saved my life! This is awesome, it’s going to be such a help in the next two years 🙂
Glad you found my notes helpful! Ace the exam! 🙂
Thank you so much for making this, and making it free. I would just like to enquire on the name of the app mentioned where offline access is available, as the link is not functioning, it says page not found. Thank you once again.
Glad you found my notes helpful. 🙂 Link should be working now!
